Mayor Steven L. Reed and the City of Montgomery will host the inaugural Montgomery Youth Day Festival on Aug. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Montgomery’s Riverwalk Amphitheater.
The event will feature family-friendly activities including bounce houses, face painting and balloon animals, as well as food vendors and back to school giveaways.
During the Festival, a multicultural youth entertainment showcase will feature a performance called “Koolriculm” from Khao Cates, a Grammy nominated musician and producer from Montgomery, as well as the debut of a presentation by the Arts Council of Montgomery’s 2021 Children’s Musical Theatre Intensive Workshop.
The Workshop was launched this year and designed to instruct and encourage students ages 8-13 years old in the disciplines of singing, acting and dancing. These students have been working toward perfecting this performance, which will delight and inspire everyone who attends the Montgomery Youth Day Festival.
The festival is part of Mayor Reed’s vision to create events and activities that help elevate Montgomery’s diverse cultural arts community.
